The first meeting of the General Assembly of the Yemeni International Telecommunications Company (TeleYemen), which was held today in the interim capital Aden, headed by the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and Acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Waed Badhib, discussed ways to improve the company’s situation. The meeting, which included members of the Assembly, the General Manager of the General Corporation for Wired and Wireless Telecommunications, Eng. Wael Tarmoum, and the Acting Chairman of the General Authority for Post and Postal Provision, Sami Al-Barti, discussed the company’s general report and the challenges facing the company in light of the threats to the submarine cables due to the terrorist acts carried out by the Houthi militia elements on the maritime navigation lines. During the meeting, Minister Waed Badhib stressed the need to work to improve and develop the quality of the company’s services and increase revenues for optimal investment of the equipment available to it to provide services to citizens.. Pointing to the great role of the leadership and employees of the company in updating the performance mechanism and facing the difficulties facing the workflow in order to improve the company’s reality and enable it to support the national economy and compete in the local market in light of the intense competition with private companies. The Acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology pointed out the importance of continuing to follow up on the implementation of the procedures for transferring the electronic portal and raising the difficulties that cannot be addressed in order to take the necessary solutions. He pointed out that the government’s priorities are to improve the services of the communications and internet sector and launch them towards broader horizons of development and expansion.
