The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Lotfi Basharif, announced the transfer of the headquarters of the International Telecommunications Company (TeleYemen) to the interim capital, Aden.
The Minister Basharif, while chairing the company’s general assembly meeting today, Tuesday, appreciated the efforts made by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the relevant authorities to facilitate the transfer procedures.. Noting that the main partners in this company are the General Telecommunications Corporation with a share of 75% and the General Postal Savings Authority with a share of 25%.
For his part, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Salem Al-Wali, explained that the transfer of the company to Aden came as it is a sovereign institution and a fundamental pillar of the pillars of state security and the national economy.. stressing the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s support for providing all facilities and support to the Ministry of Communications and this sovereign edifice.
While the Governor of Aden, Ahmed Salem Rabie, considered the decision to transfer TeleYemen to Aden an achievement and a real step in the right direction due to the great commercial and economic importance of this vital edifice in supporting the state treasury.
The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry, Ali Atef, the Advisor to the Prime Minister, Salah Abdul Hamid, and the Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Aden, Abu Bakr Ba’abid.
